Mummys birthday weekend

Hallo, this weekend has been mummys birthday weekend. I cooked melitzanes papoutsakia - it is aubergines with beef mince in tomato sauce stuffed in. It is topped with white sauce with cheese and egg. Here is the recipe:

Here is a video tutorial of me making it:

We also cooked a cake with chocolate and beetroot in it for my Mum's birthday cake. The recipe was from a book that my mum got for her birthday, we did the heartache cake but with beetroot not aubergine:

Gemista

Gemista is a Greek food. My Mum's friend Konstantinos set me a challenge about gemista. Gemista is rice stuffed in a pepper (not hot). The recipe we used is here:

http://kalisasorexi.com/2011/01/gemista-wild-rice-stuffed-peppers/

You cook the rice with vegetables - carrots and onions. when it was cooked we stuffed it into peppers and cooked it:

we also made bread and brownies.

The brownies were very strong so if you live in alford and go to the little coop, only use milk chocolate because there isn't any dark chocolate except for 85% dark chocolate and that is too dark but we still are eating them

Portuguese codfish

Hallo. I am going to tell you about PORTUGAL. I have been going to Portugal since I was a baby because my Grandad and Vo-vo live there. My Vo-vo makes me CODFISH when we are there. Grandad and Vo-vo sent us some codfish and we stewed it with chickpeas and tomatoes.

Here is a link to a video to tell you how to make it:

This weekend I did a lot of cooking with mummy and daddy.
We had fireworks and a bonfire.  I made sausage and bean stew for the bonfire, and we got a free thing of white light in the sky that were the fireworks  in alford. we made some more bread, we didn't need to  knead the dough:
